I have already looked into that, but it isn't that simple. JAVA chats are not easy to run from my server, and are cranky from a technological point of view. I'm actually in favour of starting an IRC chat room somewhere, but we need to make some good arrangements for that...After all, there's nothing more pathetic than an empty chat room.

    Question

Why not use MSN? KC, Mit and I often chat via MSN. It works very nicely.

I'm all for it but I can't get MSN to work. It may be me or it may have downloaded wrong. I've been thinking about trashing it and trying again. I was wondering if my Mac may be the problem. Does anyone else have a Mac and use MSN?

Spatch, I was curious if you knew what those chat/messenger things that KC found a couple weeks ago were. I remember I had trouble with one and you did with the other. Just curious, I dumped my cache so I can't look back to find them.

Sorry Slarti, I've lost the links too. I was using a mac and having all kinds of software problems, and finally it went into a coma and I had to reinstall the system. I've lost a lot of "favorites" in the process. I've switched to a pc now, and msn and all that other microsoft stuff works dandy now. I've joined the dark side. Bill Gates owns my soul now.

sorry, but no MSN for me (it's a matter of principle) there are more free chats around, though. Most require one to register. The other option, as I said, is IRC which is a widely used a reliable system, but requires a special program (like mIRC or similar)I'm affraid that I have a bad timezone problem myself, and will not be able to catch a lot op people online...

Me and my mighty mac have had no problems using MSN and as Spatch said we often have very imformative chats with KC about all sorts of things!!!!

Hey whats an IRC? And will that work on a Mac, most chat programs just tell me to 'F' off. If it works I'm in, but I live in Europe so the time zone thing is a problem.

    Keep me informed.

Ah, I sold my half my soul to the Gates demon long ago with my love of Word and Explorer. (The other half belongs to Adobe smile)

I'm gonner try to download MSN again tonight. I WILL get it to work if'n it's the last thing I do! I'm in the central U.S. time zone and I keep weird hours so I don't have a lot of time concerns.

Mebbe we should figure out where everybody is to see how many people actually could participate in chat sessions.
